A shirt and tie can suggest that someone has dressed to meet an expectation: for work, a ceremony, an occasion requiring a certain composure. These two EGONLAB looks retain that recognisable combination, but loosen its connection to correctness. The question is less whether the clothes are formal than what happens when their familiar rules are rearranged.

On the left, the reddish-brown tie remains neatly positioned beneath the collar, while the striped fabric around it opens, overlaps and falls well below the waist. Several collar-like points crowd the neckline. The tie suggests order, yet the surrounding shirt refuses the tidy outline we might expect from that gesture. Its lower section disappears behind the fabric, making this emblem of being properly dressed seem caught inside an unfinished arrangement.

The trousers complicate the impression further. Their prominent pockets, pale stitching and roomy cut evoke workwear, placing another kind of work beside the shirt and tie’s office associations. The checked outer layers add to the accumulation. Rather than looking simply careless, the outfit appears carefully composed around competing expectations: a tied neck, a loose torso, practical-looking pockets. Formality survives, but no longer governs the whole figure.

On the right, the shirt is contained at the waist, making the upper body appear more defined. The pale tie nearly merges with it, although its diagonal stripes distinguish it from the shirt’s vertical ones. Below, wide black trousers introduce volume and visible pocket details; a pointed shoe emerges at the hem. The look brings the precision associated with dressing up into contact with a more utilitarian vocabulary. Neither entirely displaces the other.

In Vogue’s report on Lazarus, the Autumn/Winter 2026 collection, EGONLAB’s designers describe seeking greater creative freedom. The left-hand look gives that ambition a tangible form: familiar garments remain recognisable while their expected relationships shift. Reading this as a loosening of dress codes is our interpretation, not a stated intention for these details. Across the pairing, the shirt and tie become elements to negotiate rather than instructions to obey.

Flowers also arrive with associations before we arrange them. A rose may suggest ceremony or romance to one viewer, while another notices its thorns or uneven growth. Looking closely means attending to both the familiar meaning and the particular specimen. Neither needs to disappear for a different expression to emerge.

シャツとネクタイには、仕事や式典など、その場で求められる装いに応えようとする印象があります。EGONLABの二つのルックは、この見慣れた組み合わせを残しながら、「正しく着ること」との結び付きを緩めています。ここで考えたいのは、フォーマルかどうか以上に、着方の約束が組み替えられると何が起こるのか、ということです。

左では、赤茶色のネクタイが襟の下に整って収まる一方、周囲のストライプの生地は開き、重なり、腰よりずっと下まで垂れています。首元には襟のような先端がいくつも集まる。ネクタイは秩序を感じさせますが、シャツはそこから期待する整った輪郭に収まりません。タイの下部は生地の後ろへ消え、きちんと身支度をする象徴が、着終わる途中のような構成に取り込まれて見えます。

パンツは、その印象をさらに複雑にします。目立つポケット、淡い色のステッチ、ゆとりのある形は作業着を連想させ、シャツとネクタイが思わせるオフィスの仕事に、別の「働く服」を並べています。チェックの上着の層も、その集積に加わる。単に無造作なのではなく、結ばれた首元、ゆるんだ胴体、実用的に見えるポケットという、異なる期待を丁寧に組み合わせた装いに見えます。フォーマルな要素は残りながら、全身を支配しなくなっています。

右ではシャツが腰に収まり、上半身の形がより明確です。淡いネクタイはシャツに溶け込みそうですが、斜めの縞がシャツの縦縞との違いを示しています。その下では、幅のある黒いパンツが量感とポケットの細部を加え、裾から尖った靴がのぞく。装うときの端正さと、実用的な服の要素が接しています。どちらか一方が、もう一方を完全に押しのけることはありません。

2026年秋冬コレクション「Lazarus」を扱ったVogueの記事で、デザイナーたちは、創造の自由を広げたいと語っています。左のルックは、その姿勢を具体的な形から考えさせます。見慣れた服はそのまま認識できるのに、服同士の当然だと思っていた関係が変わっている。これを服装の規範を緩める表現と読むのは、個々の細部について作者が明言した意図ではなく、今回の解釈です。二つを並べると、シャツとネクタイは従うべき決まりから、自分なりの関係を探れる要素へ変わって見えます。

花にも、束ねる前から結び付いているイメージがあります。バラに式典やロマンスを感じる人もいれば、とげや不揃いな伸び方に目を留める人もいるでしょう。丁寧に見ることは、親しんだ意味と、目の前の一本の個性の両方に注意を向けること。そのどちらも消さずに、別の表現が生まれる余地があります。
